Maribeth and I have worked for years together, we have shared many stories about family, friends, fashion, make up, goals, dreams and raising our kids. Maribeth has a fun loving sassy spirit and enjoys the moment, very rarely do I see her stressed out. As many working mothers she tries to balance family and work. Maribeth was my first Model for a Day over a year ago. Time seems to fly because when she asked me about doing a mother daughter photo shoot I thought Elyse was still a little girl. But when I saw Elyse’s prom pictures on Facebook I thought “Wow she is stunning and all grown up”! As a mother we want our kids to grow up to be happy productive adults but letting them go is hard. Pictures create memories that will last forever, it freezes time. This is Elyse’s senior year and she wanted me to capture this moment in time between childhood and adulthood.
With the purchase of new cowgirl boots Maribeth and her daughter Elyse Zamora felt motivated to try a stylish Americana Southwest photo shoot inspired by the Free People. I just love this line of clothing it’s creative, sweet, tomboyish and romantic.
We were able to create a similar look at a fraction of the cost. Maribeth’s lace dress and denim vest were purchased at Urban Xchange in Gilbert AZ for $10.00 each. Her boots were on sale at Dillards for $100.00. Maribeth highly recommends Urban Xchange for those of us on a budget. This store has new and gently used current name brand designer clothing; buy, sell or trade it’s fun! Fashion is a style not a price.
Meet Elyse, Maribeth ‘s daughter. Elyse is studying to be a cosmetologist and she loves fashion, hair and makeup. (I can totally relate). Elyse assisted me with her mother’s hair for this shoot. She is very talented at airbrush make up which will be in a future blog post. I decided to create a natural smoky eye on Maribeth and used a contouring/highlighting technique. Maribeth fell in love with the Too Face Glamour Gloss Peek-a Boo color so I ended up giving it to her. A girls trip is coming! Maribeth, Elyse and I discussed going to a beauty conference in CA this year. Watch out California here we come!!
One of Elyse’s favorite stores is Brandy Melville, this line has that carefree L.A. lifestyle, feminine with an urban twist.
The picture of Elyse twirling captured her creative free spirit as Maribeth looked lovingly at her thinking to herself “my little girl is growing up”. Remember to treasure your time because children grow up when we are not looking.
Elyse: In this shoot Elyse is wearing their Jada dress $35, gold moon necklace $6 and her boots are from BootBarn $125.00.
Maribeth All: Maribeth’s lace dress and denim vest were purchased at Urban Xchange in Gilbert AZ for $10.00 each. Her boots were on sale at Dillards for $100.00.
