Fierce, fabulous and fun! Meet Todatiyah a young and talented Skin Care Specialist at Luxe Salon & Spa in Chandler. I first met Todatiyah at the salon when I sparked up a conversation about fashion with her and her sister Codou. Codou who works as a Nail Specialist at Ledien Mitchell Salon & Spa had on a chic pair of calypso pants and I just had to ask her where she had bought them. It wasn’t long into the conversation when I realized these girls may love fashion almost as much as me. When invited to be a model for a day Todatiyah responded with excitement and delight.
Inner Beauty…
Working with Todatiyah gave me a chance to get to know more about the girl behind the trendy outfits and the pretty face. “I’m passionate about what I do, but I also think about the future” she tells me when I ask her about being a full time student. She is studying business with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. “I have to think about the long run, my future, my family, all of these things matter.” So with full-time work and school on her plate how does she maintain being fierce fabulous and fun? “You just have to be grateful for every moment you are blessed with” she tells me.
Todatiyah’s love for family, friends, fashion, travel, and well life are what keep her going. When she does have free time she spends it styling or putting together looks for herself and her girlfriends. “It’s usually a collaborative effort” she says as she laughs to herself “we have fun with it.”
On Fashion…
Just as she does with her girlfriends Todatiyah and I collaborated on the looks for the shoot. She describes her sense in style as eclectic. An accumulation of the trends she loves from the past and present.
“My style is boho-chic with a modern twist, I love to take a classic look and throw a contemporary piece in the mix. This technique keeps me looking stylish but not overly trendy. I feel like when people just follow trends everyone starts to look the same. Fashion should be diverse that’s why I love abstract patterns and asymmetrical pieces.”

She also has an affection for traditional Indian clothing which she developed watching Bollywood films with her mother and sister as a young girl.
On your skincare routine…
When I asked about her best skin care tip she told me “hydrate and protect! Dry skin causes premature aging and so does sun damage! So it’s extremely important to moisturize your skin regularly and protect it daily with an SPF of at least 30!” Another bit of advice she gave me was to have anti-aging treatments like chemical peels and microdermabrasion regularly performed by a licensed esthetician.
Both are services she offers to her clients at Luxe Salon & Spa and that she herself receives frequently.
For the shoot we decided to channel her flirty side for one look and tap into her inner Indian princess for the other. In the first look she adorns a bustier from H&M, a black hi-lo skirt from Nordstrom Rack, and shoes by Audrey Brooke. Her blue Ted Baker clutch and her cocktail rings are from Nordstrom, and her necklace is from Ann Taylor.
In her second look she is wearing a cropped top by ASTR purchased from Nordstrom Rack with a traditional silk skirt.
