Brave Wings Fashion Show

It is always a great privilege to cover a fashion show with so many talented designers, photographers and models. I have so much to share but first, I wanted to start with my “Mohawk Up Do” which was a total surprise. I’ve shown a picture to a very talented artist Nadia Hassan – “Can you really nail this?” I never had a luck with up-do’s in the past but this time it was on fleek!

The Founders of Brave Wings Show:
Mabel Cortez and Jenesis Laforcarde each have their own clothing line and decided to join forces to create a fashion show that not only unites the fashion community in the valley but to make a difference through fashion by selecting a local non-profit organization. The previous non-profit organizations they have helped include, Sojourner Center, Ryan House, Singleton Mom’s and this year Arizona Burn Foundation.
“Our goal is to unite our resources to make a difference through fashion in our local communities by giving back to those in need, if we can brighten someone’s life though our hard work wear already winners”.

Mabella Chic “for the It Mom” -Moms are our heroes it is time to celebrate their hard work and help them look fabulous while doing it all! It was so inspiring to see Mabel Cortez walking runway with her daughter.

Mabella Chic was originally a high fashion brand made for all women! After designer and founder, Mabel Cortez had her first-born daughter Maya, she decided to re-brand and dedicate her new collection to the moms who refuse to be put in a box! Say bye to the “mom” jeans and polo tees and HELLO to the “IT” mom! She teamed up with wardrobe stylist, Jenesis Laforcarde known for her bold, and innovative creative direction to create The Mabella Chic Collection. The collection consists of 17 timeless pieces that moms can mix & match and throw on throughout winter or summer, while looking fabulous with out having to grab the iron. Moms no longer need do to put there self last, after all, Happy Mom, Happy Family.

Jenesis Laforcarde, Founder of Woman’s Touch Apparel, is a entrepreneur, maintains full time employment as a buyer for 4 boutiques, and a fashion/ wardrobe stylist! Jenesis has worked with Phoenix, Los Angeles and NewYork Fashion Week as style team leader and participant. Through her work as a stylist, Jenesis has executed many photo and video shoots throughout the U.S.A . Jenesis’ motivation for Woman’s Touch Apparel was inspired while gathering information for a high school research paper on the rights of Saudi Arabian Women. She became vividly aware of the mistreatment of women from this region and was compassionate for their tribulations.
